How Our Village Is Making Childcare Easier and More Trusted in Dallas–Fort Worth
On January 7, 2025, Our Village launched with a clear mission:
to make it easier for parents to find help, easier to trust the people they’re connecting with, and easier to build real support systems around their families.
We believed parents didn’t just need a babysitter.
They needed a network.
A trusted, on-demand layer of backup support — for busy weekdays, last-minute schedule changes, date nights, sick days, school breaks, and everything in between.
One year later, that mission is turning into real impact across Dallas–Fort Worth.

The Problem: Finding Childcare Shouldn’t Be This Hard
Parents today face a familiar challenge:
- You need childcare quickly.
- You don’t have time to search endlessly.
- You’re unsure who you can trust.
- You don’t want to rely on social media posts or unverified listings.
Traditional platforms often feel transactional. Community groups can feel uncertain. And word-of-mouth only goes so far.
Parents don’t just want availability.
They want safety. Transparency. Accountability.
They want to feel confident.
That’s the gap Our Village set out to solve.
The Solution: A Trusted Local Network for Parents
Our Village is a gig-economy platform built specifically for parents and caregivers in Texas.
Here’s what makes it different:
- 100% background-checked providers
- Community reviews for accountability
- Local focus across DFW
- Flexible earning opportunities for caregivers
- No monthly subscriptions for providers
Instead of just listing babysitters, Our Village creates a system where families can:
- Post childcare jobs
- Connect with verified local caregivers
- Build ongoing relationships
- Access backup help when plans change
It’s not just about one booking.
It’s about building a reliable support system.
What Happened in Year One
From launch in January 2025 to today, the growth has been entirely community-driven.
5,000 Local Users
In just over 12 months:
- 5,000 parents and caregivers joined the platform
- 50% service seekers (parents)
- 50% service providers (caregivers)
- ~4,200 iOS users
- ~800 Android users
This balanced marketplace is critical. For every parent looking for help, there is a caregiver ready to work.
476 Childcare Jobs Posted Across DFW
Since launch, families have posted 476 jobs throughout Dallas–Fort Worth.
Demand has been consistent — and is accelerating.
In just the first half of February, more than 30 jobs have already been posted, with 8 successfully completed hires. That pace puts February on track to become the strongest month yet.
Our current job fill rate is between 20–30%, and improving as the network deepens and more caregivers become active.
This is what real marketplace traction looks like.
Coverage Across the Entire DFW Metroplex
Our Village isn’t concentrated in one neighborhood. Families and caregivers are active across:
- Dallas
- Plano
- Frisco
- McKinney
- Arlington
- Grand Prairie
- Fort Worth
- Keller
- North Richland Hills
This metro-wide adoption strengthens trust and availability. When parents open the app, they aren’t seeing a handful of options — they’re seeing a growing, active local network.
Expanding Support: Pop-Up Event Childcare
In 2026, Our Village began testing Pop-Up Event Childcare, offering trusted childcare at local community events.
The first event has already been completed, with another scheduled for March 2.
This marks the beginning of something bigger — expanding from one-to-one connections into community-level childcare solutions.
Why This Matters for Parents
Parenting was never meant to be done alone.
But modern families often find themselves without nearby relatives, flexible support, or reliable backup options.
Our Village is helping solve that by:
- Making it easier to find local childcare in DFW
- Making it safer through background checks and reviews
- Making it more reliable with a growing base of caregivers
- Making it flexible for both families and providers
This isn’t just about booking a sitter.
It’s about rebuilding the concept of a “village” — digitally enabled, locally rooted, and built for modern families.
Looking Ahead
From 0 users to 5,000.
From launch day to hundreds of jobs posted.
From concept to real transactions and expanding services.
Year One was about proving the need.
Year Two is about scaling the network.
If you’re a parent in Dallas–Fort Worth looking for trusted childcare, or a caregiver looking for flexible local work, the Village is growing — and there’s room for you.
Because families deserve more than a listing.
They deserve a network.
