OUR VILLAGE TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective Date: September 14, 2026
Last Updated: September 14, 2026

Welcome to Our Village.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Our Village mobile application, website, services, features, and related technology (collectively, the “Platform”).

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Our Village (“Our Village,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing or using the Platform, posting or applying for a job, booking or providing services, making or receiving a payment, or otherwise using Our Village, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

1. ABOUT OUR VILLAGE

Our Village is a technology marketplace designed to connect individuals and families seeking services (“Seekers”) with independent individuals offering services (“Providers”). The Platform may also allow users to discover participating local businesses and other resources.

Services available through the Platform may include childcare, babysitting, transportation, tutoring, education, errands, household assistance, pet care, event assistance, newborn or postpartum support, and other services made available through the Platform from time to time.

Our Village Is a Marketplace

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Our Village does not directly provide the services listed or performed through the Platform.

Providers are independent users of the Platform and are not employees of Our Village.

Our Village does not employ, direct, supervise, control, or manage the day-to-day performance of services by Providers.

Seekers are responsible for determining whether a Provider is appropriate for their individual needs, and Providers are responsible for determining whether a job is appropriate for them.

Our Village facilitates connections, communication, payments, safety features, and other marketplace functionality but is not a party to the actual performance of services between a Seeker and Provider.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNTS

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating and maintaining an Our Village account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account.

You may not:

  • Create an account using false or misleading information
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Create an account on behalf of another person without authorization
  • Share your login credentials with another person
  • Access another user’s account without permission
  • Use the Platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes

We may require users to verify information or identity at any time.

Provider Minimum Age

Providers must be at least 18 years old.

By registering as a Provider, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

If Our Village determines that a Provider is under 18, the Provider’s account may be immediately suspended or terminated.

3. USER RESPONSIBILITIES

All users agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information
  • Communicate honestly with other users
  • Treat other users respectfully
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Use the Platform only for legitimate purposes
  • Follow applicable Our Village policies and safety requirements
  • Promptly report serious safety concerns, suspected fraud, or prohibited activity

Users are responsible for their own conduct and interactions with other users.

4. COMMUNITY STANDARDS AND PROHIBITED CONDUCT

Our Village is intended to provide a safe, respectful, and trustworthy community.

Users may not use the Platform to:

Harass or Harm Others

Users may not:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or repeatedly contact another user after being asked to stop
  • Engage in abusive, hateful, threatening, sexually inappropriate, or discriminatory conduct
  • Promote violence or illegal activity

Discriminate

Users may not unlawfully discriminate against another person based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

Engage in Fraud or Misrepresentation

Users may not:

  • Misrepresent their identity, experience, qualifications, credentials, availability, services, or background
  • Submit false documentation
  • Manipulate reviews or ratings
  • Engage in payment fraud
  • Abuse promotions, credits, referrals, rewards, or other Platform programs

Interfere With the Platform

Users may not:

  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Attempt unauthorized access to Platform systems
  • Scrape or harvest Platform data without authorization
  • Circumvent security features
  • Interfere with the operation of the Platform

5. USER CONTENT AND PROFILE INFORMATION

Users may submit profiles, photos, descriptions, reviews, messages, job postings, service information, and other content (“User Content”).

You are responsible for User Content you submit.

User Content must not:

  • Be false, deceptive, or misleading
  • Infringe another person’s intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Contain illegal, threatening, explicit, hateful, or abusive material
  • Promote illegal services or transactions
  • Violate these Terms or other Platform policies

Our Village may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms or creates safety, legal, fraud, or integrity concerns.

6. PROVIDER PROFILES

Providers must maintain accurate and professional profiles.

Provider profile photos should clearly represent the Provider and must not materially misrepresent the Provider’s identity.

Our Village may establish profile requirements relating to photos, descriptions, credentials, references, service categories, or other profile information.

Providers may not include prohibited personal contact information or external payment information in areas of the Platform where such information is restricted.

Our Village may request that Providers update or correct profile information.

7. PROVIDER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Providers are responsible for offering only services they are legally permitted, qualified, capable, and appropriately experienced to perform.

For childcare, babysitting, child transportation, and other child-focused services, Providers should have appropriate experience working with children.

Providers are responsible for accurately representing their:

  • Experience
  • Skills
  • Education
  • Certifications
  • Licenses
  • References
  • Training
  • Availability
  • Service capabilities

Our Village may require additional qualifications or documentation for certain service categories.

8. INDEPENDENT PROVIDER RELATIONSHIP

Providers using Our Village are independent marketplace participants and are not employees of Our Village.

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, or franchise relationship between Our Village and a Provider.

Subject to Platform policies and applicable law, Providers generally determine:

  • Which services they offer
  • Their availability
  • Which jobs they choose to apply for or accept
  • Their rates or pricing where the Platform permits Providers to set them
  • How they perform agreed services

Providers are responsible for expenses associated with providing their services, unless otherwise agreed between the Seeker and Provider.

Providers are also responsible for determining and satisfying their own tax, licensing, permit, insurance, registration, and other legal obligations associated with providing services.

Nothing in these Terms should be interpreted as legal, tax, employment, or accounting advice.

9. BACKGROUND CHECKS AND VERIFICATION

Our Village may require Providers to complete identity verification, background screening, driving-record screening, or other verification before offering certain services.

Basic Background Check

Providers required to complete Our Village’s Basic Background Check currently pay $16.99.

Background-check fees are generally non-refundable once screening has been initiated.

Completion of a background check does not guarantee approval to provide services through Our Village.

Our Village reserves the right to determine eligibility to participate on the Platform based on screening results, Platform policies, applicable law, safety considerations, and other relevant information.

Existing Background Checks

Providers who have recently completed a background check through an employer, caregiving platform, rideshare company, or another service may submit documentation to Our Village for review.

Acceptance is not automatic.

Our Village may determine whether an existing screening satisfies current Platform requirements or whether additional screening is necessary.

Transportation Screening

Providers seeking to offer transportation services must first satisfy applicable Basic Background Check requirements.

Additional driving-related screening may then be required.

The cost of additional screening may vary depending on the screening required, including the number of jurisdictions or records that must be searched.

Screening Is Not a Guarantee

Background checks and verification processes have limitations.

A completed or approved screening does not guarantee that a Provider is safe, qualified, trustworthy, suitable for a particular job, or free from past or future misconduct.

Seekers remain responsible for evaluating Providers and determining whether a Provider is appropriate for their individual needs.

10. TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Providers offering transportation services are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and Platform requirements.

Transportation Providers are responsible for maintaining, as applicable:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Legally required vehicle registration
  • Legally required automobile insurance
  • A safe and legally operable vehicle
  • Any additional documentation required by Our Village
  • Compliance with applicable traffic and child-passenger-safety laws

Providers must not provide transportation while impaired, distracted, unlicensed, uninsured where insurance is required, or otherwise unable to operate a vehicle safely and legally.

Seekers are responsible for communicating relevant transportation needs, including information reasonably necessary regarding children, pickup and drop-off arrangements, and required child-restraint equipment.

11. JOB POSTINGS AND SERVICE AGREEMENTS

Seekers are responsible for accurately describing the services they request, including relevant:

  • Duties
  • Schedule
  • Location
  • Compensation
  • Number and ages of children when relevant
  • Transportation requirements
  • Pet information
  • Household conditions
  • Special considerations reasonably necessary for the Provider to evaluate the job

Providers should review job information before accepting or applying.

The Seeker and Provider are responsible for confirming the scope, schedule, compensation, and other important terms of the service.

Our Village does not guarantee that:

  • A Seeker will receive applications
  • A Provider will receive jobs
  • A particular user will be selected
  • A job will be completed
  • A particular Provider or Seeker will be suitable for another user
  • The Platform will always have opportunities available in a particular location or category

12. IN-APP COMMUNICATION AND OFF-PLATFORM ACTIVITY

Communications relating to services found, requested, offered, or booked through Our Village must remain within the Platform when required by Our Village policy.

Users may not use profiles, bios, messages, attachments, or other Platform features to improperly share or solicit:

  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Social-media accounts
  • External payment information
  • Other contact information intended to circumvent Platform communication or payment requirements

Users may not use Our Village to discover another user and then intentionally move the transaction off-platform to avoid Platform requirements or fees.

All jobs arranged through Our Village must be paid through the Platform unless Our Village expressly authorizes otherwise.

Message Review

Our Village may use automated or manual systems to review or moderate communications when reasonably necessary for:

  • Safety
  • Fraud prevention
  • Policy enforcement
  • Dispute resolution
  • Detecting attempts to circumvent Platform rules
  • Protecting users or the Platform

Users should not use Platform communications for information they do not want processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

13. PAYMENTS

Payments for jobs booked through Our Village must be processed through the Platform’s designated payment system.

Our Village currently uses Stripe as a third-party payment processor.

By using paid Platform services, users authorize Our Village and its payment-processing partners to process applicable charges, payouts, refunds, adjustments, and other payment transactions.

Use of payment services may also be subject to Stripe’s applicable terms and policies.

14. SEEKER FEES

Our Village may charge Seekers fees associated with transactions or Platform features.

Unless otherwise disclosed at the time of purchase or booking, a 5% operations fee may be applied to transactions paid by Seekers.

Additional optional features, products, memberships, promotions, or services may have separate prices displayed before purchase.

Fees and pricing applicable to a transaction will be disclosed through the Platform before the user completes the applicable purchase or payment.

15. PROVIDER PAYOUTS

Provider earnings for eligible completed jobs are paid through Our Village’s designated payment-processing system to the Provider’s connected payout account.

Providers may be required to establish and maintain an eligible payout account and provide information required by the payment processor.

Payout timing may depend on:

  • Payment-processor requirements
  • Banking systems
  • Verification status
  • Holds
  • Disputes
  • Refunds
  • Chargebacks
  • Fraud or risk reviews
  • Other circumstances outside Our Village’s reasonable control

Our Village does not guarantee a specific payout time or guarantee payment regardless of payment failure, fraud, chargeback, dispute, or other circumstances.

Any Provider fees applicable to a transaction or Platform feature will be disclosed through the Platform.

16. CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS, PAYMENT DISPUTES, AND CHARGEBACKS

Users should promptly communicate cancellations or service issues through the Platform.

Refunds, credits, cancellation charges, adjustments, or other remedies may depend on the circumstances of the transaction and any policy displayed through the Platform at the time of booking.

Our Village may review relevant job information, payment records, Platform communications, user history, and other available information when assisting with a dispute.

Our Village may, where appropriate and permitted, issue or facilitate:

  • Refunds
  • Partial refunds
  • Credits
  • Payment adjustments
  • Payout adjustments
  • Other remedial measures

Our Village does not guarantee that every dispute will be resolved in favor of either party.

Users may not knowingly file fraudulent or abusive chargebacks.

If a payment dispute or chargeback occurs, Our Village and its payment processor may delay, reverse, offset, or recover amounts as permitted by applicable law and payment-processing rules.

17. REVIEWS AND RATINGS

Seekers and Providers may be permitted to leave ratings, reviews, or other feedback.

Reviews should reflect genuine experiences and must not contain:

  • False information
  • Threats or harassment
  • Discriminatory content
  • Private or sensitive information
  • Extortion or attempts to manipulate another user
  • Content unrelated to the service experience

Our Village may remove or restrict reviews that violate Platform policies.

Our Village does not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted ratings or reviews.

18. VILLAGE PERKS AND REWARDS

Our Village may offer loyalty programs, rewards, promotional credits, referral incentives, tiers, discounts, gift cards, or other benefits, including the Village Perks program.

Eligibility, point-earning opportunities, redemption values, tier thresholds, available rewards, promotional requirements, and other Program details are displayed through the Platform or applicable promotion.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Points and rewards have no cash value
  • Points cannot be transferred or sold
  • Rewards may be subject to eligibility requirements
  • Points or rewards obtained through fraud, abuse, error, cancellations, refunds, or chargebacks may be withheld, reversed, or removed
  • Third-party rewards are subject to the issuing merchant’s terms

Our Village may modify, suspend, replace, or discontinue a rewards program or particular reward, subject to applicable law.

If a program is discontinued, Our Village may provide a reasonable redemption period where appropriate.

19. BUSINESS LISTINGS

Our Village may allow local businesses or organizations to create or maintain listings on the Platform.

A listing does not constitute an endorsement, certification, partnership, or guarantee by Our Village unless expressly stated otherwise.

Businesses are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, offerings, pricing, credentials, and representations.

Users are responsible for evaluating businesses before purchasing or using their products or services.

Business-listing fees, promotional opportunities, and other applicable charges may be displayed separately through the Platform.

20. SAFETY AND USER RESPONSIBILITY

Our Village provides tools intended to help users make informed decisions, but no marketplace can eliminate all risk.

Users are responsible for exercising reasonable judgment when interacting with people they meet through the Platform.

Seekers should evaluate Providers based on the needs of their families and may choose to:

  • Review profiles
  • Review available background-check information
  • Review ratings and reviews
  • Ask questions
  • Conduct an interview
  • Use in-app video or messaging features
  • Request references or credentials where appropriate
  • Discuss expectations before services begin

Providers should similarly evaluate jobs and Seekers before accepting work.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services.

21. NO GUARANTEE OF PROVIDER OR SEEKER SUITABILITY

Our Village may provide background screening, profiles, reviews, matching information, or other tools.

These tools are intended to assist users and do not constitute a guarantee or endorsement of any Provider, Seeker, business, service, or transaction.

Our Village cannot guarantee:

  • A person’s identity in every circumstance
  • The completeness of third-party records
  • Future behavior
  • Professional competence
  • Safety
  • Reliability
  • Compatibility
  • Quality of services

Users remain responsible for their own decisions regarding whom they hire, work for, communicate with, or otherwise interact with.

22. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Platform may integrate with or rely on third-party services, including payment processors, background-screening providers, analytics providers, app stores, mapping services, communication tools, and other technology providers.

Our Village is not responsible for interruptions, errors, delays, acts, omissions, or policies of independent third-party services beyond Our Village’s reasonable control.

Your use of certain third-party services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.

23. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Our Village name, logos, Platform design, software, graphics, branding, text, and other proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to Our Village and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Except as expressly permitted, users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, license, scrape, or commercially exploit Our Village intellectual property without written permission.

Users retain ownership of User Content they submit but grant Our Village a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, promote, and protect the Platform, subject to applicable privacy
